Get excited kids!
We leave for Utah tomorrow to go skiing with the family.
So...
The answer is yes. I will be posting pictures of myself in my most glamorous clothing.
Ya know, my ski attire, like these beauties from years past:
"Gee, I'm so cool. I ski in shorts!"
"I wonder if Kirby Byrd* misses me. He is so rad"
"My neck is rollin'"
I'm sure all kinds of blog worthy things will happen on the trip.
After all, on one of the ski trips was the scene of my first (and last) foray into the world of competitive eating.
It was the year 2000 and we were in Snowmass, Colorado eating dinner at the Lynn Britt Cabin on the mountain.
It was a hoe down of sorts.
After dinner the call was made for participants in an Apple Pie Eating Contest.
My ears perked up at the inquiry.
A few times in my life a tiny burst of...well, insanity really...has come forth at inopportune times and caused me to do some very questionable things.
It's like a feverish glee comes over me that I must obey.
This was one of those times.
It just hit me as I sat there that this would probably be the only time in my life I would ever get to participate in an Apple Pie eating contest.
Why this was a good thing I have no idea.
Right? Right.
So, we were given pies and 60 seconds and whoever could devour the most pie won.
Now, I don't even like fruit but somehow I found the ability to scarf that baby down like it was a profiterole.
Alas. I didn't win.
But, I can now say I've done it.
Which is important because it seems like everyday someone is coming up to me and saying:
"Say! Have you ever participated in an apple pie eating contest?"
Yep, everyday.

*Kirby Byrd was my first crush. I blame all the nonsense that transpired around him on Emily.
Fun, fun, fun! Hurry up!
