So this little tutorial (or one just like it) has been circulating through Pinterest:
It's on how to make a rag wreath.
My friend Liz made one and I decided to get crafty and try it.
In my head I'm visualizing every dude that's reading this saying 'yawn.'
Stick with me.
Now the tutorial makes it look super easy.
It's kinda like on HGTV when they hit fast forward on the part where people move the furniture and paint and you think:
"Wow! Painting walls and moving furniture must be really easy!"
The tutorial basically says:
Step One: Buy a straw wreath and some fabric.
Step Two: Rip the fabric and tie it onto wreath.
Step Three: Hang wreath.
Sounds easy, right?
So, lets see what happens when I try to get crafty:
Step One:
And that ladies and gentlemen is what happens when non crafty people get crafty.

Step One:
Measure fabric.
Note to self: Do not tell Dad I used a Home Depot ruler to measure. Although at this point he would be pretty shocked that I even used a ruler.
I'm a measure once cut twice kinda gal.
Step Two:
Rip fabric into strips
Note to self: Plan on picking tiny pieces of fabric off of carpet for the next six months.
Step Three:
Realize that your friend Liz really meant it when she said not to remove the plastic from the wreath.
Note to Self: Go back to Hobby Lobby and buy a different kind of wreath.
Step the Fourth:
Check on baby.
Step Five:
New wreath purchased
Step Six:
Realize you cut your strips WAY too short.
Step Seven:
Keep on tying.
Step Eight:
Bust out the ribbon and tie it on too.
Step Nine:
Start a fire because it's freaking freezing in Alabama right now.
Note to self: Do not let people from northern states know that you consider anything under 60 degrees as freezing.
Step Ten:
Hang her up.
And that ladies and gentlemen is what happens when non crafty people get crafty.
After step nine was to start a fire, I was expecting a totally different step 10. Glad to see that you finished it and hung it up. It's cute and cheery!
