Squirrels

Can we take a moment and appreciate squirrels?

I know, I know. 

You aren't supposed to appreciate squirrels. 

If you go into the nature stores around town they act like squirrels are akin to cholera...

 Or the plague... 

Or swine flu...

Or...you get the picture.

However, around here I like squirrels.

I have my reasons.

Reason the first: They are less skittish than birds. That means they are easier to watch.

Reason the second: They use their hands to eat which is just cute. 

Reason the third: They do funny things in their attempts to obtain bird seed.

Reason the fourth: Sandy the Squirrel is my all time favorite cartoon character. 

Well, besides Belle from Beauty and the Beast .

Ooh! Ooh! And I LOVE Merriweather from Sleeping Beauty! 

And how about...

Wait. 

I'm rabbit trailing. 

Forgive me. 

Anyway...

Squirrels do some crazy things with their tales. 

Mostly they just make a mess on my back porch but I forgive them because I enjoy their antics. 

See!

I liked them so much I even bought a squirrel feeder!

"Hey! Where is the love for me?"

Just be glad I put a bird feeder out, buddy.

If not for my cousin Kathryn and her bird issues you'd be totally outta luck.

"Hey bird, just be glad she didn't call Animal Control on you like she did me."
