Don't You Dare Use it to Gossip...

Last night at James' basketball practice...

I know, I know. I promised I wouldn't let the minions do little league but I somehow caved in to the incessant chatter about it it.

...I saw this Prayer Wall set up at the High School.

It was made with chicken wire and had places to write prayers and then put them into the wire.

I loved that people had written individual prayers but also just had put snapshots up of issues they wanted to pray for.

Like this guy. He was injured in Afghanistan last month.

Oooh! Oooh! It's not the Lincoln Academy in Maine. Every dang time I put Lincoln Academy into google maps it tries to take me to Maine. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, I love Maine. Seriously people, have you been there? It's a great place.

'Why are you talking about Maine and not the prayer wall"

Y'all I have no idea who this baby is but she was cracking me up when I sat beside her last weekend at the blog conference. I plan on using this picture every chance I get until I get a cease and desist order from the babies owners.

"Why don't you call them parents?"

See! You can't go wrong using this picture.

Anyway, back to the prayer wall.

Here is my only concern about having a prayer wall in a high school. Um...gossip. I wasn't a super committed church youth group girl but one thing I do remember is that some times the er...concerns...of the students could turn out to be more of ...well, chances to be chatty Cathy about people.

For instance:

"And Lord, I just want to pray for Steven tonight. He got drunk last night at a party and his parents don't know about it."

"Dear Jesus, Please protect Susie as she is wandering from your ways."

See what I mean?

So, prayer wall good. Gossip, bad.

"Don't you dare use the prayer wall to gossip!"

Gets me every time.
