Just forty five minutes northwest of Huntsville in Ardmore, Tennessee lies the pristine beginning of the rolling hills of Tennessee. Whistle Hollow Farm is located there and it the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon or evening.
...In a rumble of small town confusion there is actually an Ardmore, Alabama and an Ardmore, Tennessee. And yes, they are right beside each other...

Whistle Hollow is open Thursday through Sunday without reservations.
It is a restaurant and a store but it's so much more.
The farm was beautiful enough the day we visited but I can imagine that in a few weeks it's going to be absolutely exploding with color.
There were small animals for the children to feed.
And ample strips of bread were provided to feed them with.
"Dearest Mother, Can we take this rabbit home with us?"
"Well child, since we've managed to kill a hamster and a lizard that were hale and hardy when we received them; I think the rabbit should stay here. Our track record is working against us."
The goats wanted their bread and were not afraid to poke their heads through the fence to get it.
Goat's tongues could be the grossest things ever. Seriously, look at that thing! Ick.
Awww...Hey little buddy. You look wise and gentle.
After we fed the animals we wandered on to the trails and eventually on to the playground.
There was plenty of room for the kids to run around and make mischief.
At night you can roast S'mores.
There is a stage for the occasional act that comes through.
Evidences of the Fall were everywhere:
The Fall as in pumpkins and mums not sinfulness and depravity.
The store had vintage style toys and an old player piano.
They also had homemade goods that looked quite tasty.
And not so homemade goods.
Hey! Speaking of homemade goods you should try their strawberry pretzel salad. It was supremely amazing.
Saturday would be the perfect time to go as they are having a Festival that day. Don't you just love a good festival?
Really, as good as the strawberry pretzel salad is, anytime is the perfect time to go to Whistle Hollow Farm.
