This year at the Iron Bowl we stayed just off of Exit 51.
Due to what was truly a comedy of errors me and the kids got stuck at our hotel with no car. Honestly at this point I don't even remember why. It probably involved a fire truck. Either way we were stuck several miles from town with no way to get to Toomer's Drugs. And dang it, we needed our lemonade.
In the end we got there with no problems.
Oooh! Oooh! We did totally see these Bammers stealing this bench!
Moving it to a different locale might have been a more accurate description but close enough.
Aww, what a lovely picture. I can assure you, though, the Interstate looked nothing like this picture that day.
Staying outside of walking distance to campus on football game weekends is kind of a bummer. But on Iron Bowl weekend you gotta take what you can get.

Because of ridiculous amounts of traffic there were no cabs available. Auburn is still a small town - which I love - but it cuts down on the mass transit options.
Now, of course, I'm not a huge fan of ye olde hitchhiking. But...desperate times and all that.
A really nice lady overheard me asking the hotel clerk about taxi options and such and offered to drive me and the kids in to town.
Don't worry! Number one, I've hitchhiked in Auburn many times. Plus, I was totally on my A game. I was really giving the other riders in the car the once over. Nobody was going to pull anything over on me!
And it was a good thing too because the person sitting next to me in the car looked pretty shady. I snuck a picture:
Yep, pretty shady.
"What's shady?

Man...hitchhiking, bench stealing, shady characters. Tonight's blog is pretty rough! Not as rough as this guy but you catch my drift.
"I'm not rough."
Girl, you left out all the good stuff!

DeleteI have a daughter that is now addicted to Toomer's lemonade. We stayed one weekend last year and she had a minimum of one per day; one of the times that she went, she didn't even bring me one.
