Before the school year started I was pretty concerned about how the whole 'waking up at zero dark thirty' thing was going to go.
It actually hasn't gone quite as bad as I imagined it to be.
I mean, it's still not super fun to wake up at 5:45 but it's doable.
There is one part of the mornings that I actualy do enjoy.
And this is going to sound ridiculous so let me just warn you of that in advance....
See, we have these curtains in our bedroom...
Oh, look, here they are!
Hi, Curtains!
What are y'all doing here?

Hi, Curtains!
What are y'all doing here?
"Oh, just hanging around."
Great Scott.
Did I really just go there with that joke?
See kids, this is what happens when I skip blogging for a day.
I get crazy.
My punctuation gets really out of hand and I start feeling all squirrelly.
Anyway...
The curtains.
So, the part of the morning I like is when I get to pull back the curtains.
I don't know why.
I just like it.
It's the first thing I do after stepping out of bed.
Maybe it's because they make this great 'whoosh' sound?
Maybe it's because I like the feeling of the fabric tugging on the iron rings?
And I don't just gently open them.
Oh, no...
I throw those babies open like I'm Aragorn in Lord of the Rings.
Sigh...
That's a great scene.
Anyway, it makes me feel very dramatic to throw the curtains back.
Is that weird?
You don't have to answer that.
Blast...
A couple days ago when I made the rough draft of this post I wrote:
Mention Pollyanna
I have no idea.
What would the movie Pollyanna have to do with curtains?
Oh, why did I skip a day of blogging?!
This is what happens folks!
The crazy comes out when I don't blog.
Excessive punctuation and random Pollyanna references...
Just another day in my world.
I completely understand the moment. I have always been a morning person and got into the habit of getting up very early when I spent 27 years in the USMC. It is a time when the house is quiet and there are not yet any demands and I can open the drapes and look out and say "This is the Day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." and mean it 100%.
ReplyDeleteOh my, that IS such a great scene when Aragon throws open the doors. He just looks so giddy...like a little kid who has gotten his most-asked for present.
ReplyDeleteSigh.
