Tonight I went to see the movie Something Borrowed.
My sister in law gave me the book by Emily Griffin years ago and I really loved it.
I'm usually not into 'chick lit' but this book just had something.
When I heard the book was going to be made into a movie I was all kinds of excited.
Even though I always assume movie versions of books are going to be really bad.
I had the same assumption about this movie.
However...
Okay.
I'll just say it:
The movie turned me into a big lump of romantic mush.
I was all happy and gooey feeling.
Little fireworks were exploding around me.
Even though I'm really not very romantic.
In fact, a carriage driver yelled at me once for not being romantic enough.
I don't like walks on the beach or champagne, either.
I'm sorry.
It's just not my thing.
But this movie...
So, I was all busy feeling squishy towards the end of the movie when something very embarrassing happened.
See my flip flop clad feet were sitting on a shelf behind these peoples seats:
I was kind of playing with my flip flop with my toes.
I don't know why.
Quit asking.
Just listen to the story.
And then...
My flip flop popped...
And I mean POPPED...
...off of my foot, went up in the air and hit the girl sitting in front of me!
Hit her right in the head!
I mean, poor girl!
One minute she is sitting watching a movie - probably feeling all mushy - and suddenly a flip flop hits her in the head!
The flip flop then wedged itself between her back and the seat.
Of course I'm trying not to make a big deal out of it and be disruptive but what can I do?
My stinky old flip flop is now on another girl's back having recently collided with her head!
She finally retrieves the flip flop and then sets it down beside my other foot.
Sigh.
I don't know why this stuff happens to me.
Okay people, It's time to come forward!
Who all here has accidentally thrown a shoe at someone in a movie theatre?
Come on...
You can admit it.
*crickets chirping*
Well...
Beware the monkey, readers.
He strikes at odd times.
And he doesn't care who he hits in the head.
