Waiting...

So my cousin Margaret and I went to Ree Drummond's book signing in Atlanta last night.

I'm still a little punch drunk over it.

Ya know who else was punch drunk?

This baby after we made her wait in line for FOUR HOURS to see Ree.

Yep, 'Ree.'

We're on a first name basis now.

Um...not really.

So the book signing was Friday evening at the Borders in Buckhead.

She brought Marlboro Man:

She also brought her boys.

I didn't take pictures of them because it seemed creepy to take pictures of other people's kids.

Yes, I know I did it in New Orleans but that was different.

Sort of.

Anyway...

So what do you do when you are stuck in line for four hours?

Well....

The queue started in the children's section and then wound through crafts, sports, science, math, computers and finally art.

The children's section was great.

There was plenty of stuff to entertain Princess Smoochypie.

There was also plenty of stuff to entertain the grown ups:

Spa Science?

We totally would have loved this when we were kids!

Actually, we would kinda still totally love it now.

Then we hit the crafts section.

That was good because I got to sit and think about what books to buy my Mom (who just so happens to be a champion knitter) for Christmas:

After crafts came sports.

Meh.

And then...

We hit a serious dry spell:

The Math section.

No matter how cool you make the books look you are still talking about Math.

For example:

Look! Its Winnie from The Wonder Years.

Apparently she is super smart.

And yet...its still Math.

And how about this:

Um...no.

Math can not save my life.

It's Math.

After Math we hit the Science section.

I spent a lot of time in the Science section thinking:

"I'm so glad I don't have to read these books."

Like this one:

After Science came the Computer section.

Someone just shoot me now.

Look...

You can put nomads and jelly beans on the cover but its still about computers:

Those poor jelly beans.

They were probably excited to be chosen to be on the cover of a book....

But then they found out it was about computers or some such.

And what the heck is a rail?

Do you really need this many books about a rail?

There were two dang shelves of books about something called rails!

Wait just a minute!

Here is a book I actually need:

Blogging for Dummies.

Yes, please.

We had plenty to distract us though...

The later it got the sillier this baby got:

"I can't believe my Mom is waiting four hours to meet someone."

Hey, cuteness. At least you don't have to read this book:

Wow.

"Dark Matter, Dark Energy and the Race to Discover the Rest of Reality."

How can you be bored, disturbed, and confused by a book title all at the same time?

We were better off than these poor guys that were drug along to the signing though.

They just stood around looking uncomfortable.

"I'm not telling my friends about this..."

"There's a lot of estrogen in this locale."

We could always read the book if we got bored like the girl behind us in line:

But in the end:

Success!

And she even signed my laptop!

And yes, she is just as nice in person.
