Momooshka

My Mom posted a really embarrassing picture of me on Facebook the other day.

Why would you do that if you have a daughter that blogs?

Its a mystery.

So I thought I'd post a few pictures of Mom.

Hello, bikini.

Hubba, hubba!

Hey, this picture isn't embarrassing.

She looks great!

Except for the weird stain on the picture - which was probably my fault.

I'll keep looking.

Sweet ride in the background Mom.

I think this was on their honeymoon.

In Gatlinburg.

There are lots of pictures like this of my Mom.

And pretty much every other member of my family.

I mean, pictures of us standing in front of lumber.

If I showed this picture to Dad he would say "Oh, theres 'the old '66' in the background" - meaning some truck or something.

Wait just a minute though!

I do see something interesting!

Lets look closer!

See that scrape!

That car has clearly been in a fender bender.

It also clearly wasn't my Dad who did it because he has never had a fender bender in his life.

While you all know that Mom was guilty of a little 'fender bender' in Key West that I sold her out on several weeks ago.

There is probably a good story there.

Look at this one:

Skinny jeans.

Before skinny jeans were cool.

And how about these beauties.

The 1970s were loving my mother.

And she was loving those sunglasses.

So my Mom tells this story about how one night when she and Dad were dating and really wanted some
alone time they snuck out of the house into some some woods and he leaned her up against a tree and sang "I think we're alone now."

What a player!

Don't fall for it Mom!

Don't fall for it!

It makes sense though because Dad had two brothers and FOUR sisters - all but one of them younger than him!

And Mom had one brother and THREE sisters so come on....

I'm sure alone time was hard to come by.

She totally fell for it.

So I'm 34 and the first thing in my head in the mornings is:

"You should go read your Bible"

Don't worry, I ignore it most mornings.

Blast.

I'm working on not ignoring it.

The second thing in my head is usually:

"I wonder what Mom is doing today"

Sorry, Mom.

I'm still addicted to you after all these years.

  2. Until looking at these pictures I didn't realize just how much you look like your mom. I really though it was you in the first couple pics. You can pretty much see how you are going to look in another 25 years. Not bad, I would say!
