The dreaded 'drawer' picture

So I have been trying to organize my pictures. 

Its actually a task I really enjoy. 

We have huge boxes full of pictures that just beg me to organize them.

There is one thing though that I don't like about organizing pictures and thats the dreaded "drawer" picture.

What, you may ask, is a drawer picture?

A drawer picture is a picture that:

A. Has no one you know in it.

B. Has no landmark of real consequence in it. 

C. Is not labeled.

and 

D. Will be stuffed in a drawer because of the above three characteristics.

Lets look through some drawer pictures shall we?

Oooohh, neat. 

What a cool street in some foreign place. 

Lets look on the back and see where it was taken. 

Weeellll, we now know it was taken in March of 1979 and was developed by Fox Photo but alas thats all we know.

Somewhere tropical....

Somewhere that leisure suits were in style....

A picture that didn't make the album cut...

Thats all we know about it.

Moving along:

Well, hello sir!

You are looking mighty fine in your lederhosen. 

This can't technically be called a drawer picture because I see my friend Leslie peeking out from behind this handsome gentlemen's shoulder.

Why has this picture been relegated to a box?

Look at all these fine 1970's gentlemen. 

Holy Moly! 

Does every person in that picture have either a beard or a mustache???

Um...you seem to be on fire. 

You seem to have lots of flammable clothing on. 

Um...anyway...

Along with the dreaded drawer picture there is another category of picture that ends up loose in the picture boxes. 

Its this category:

The cemetery picture. 

Hello Bertha, I'm sure you were nice. 

But no one labeled you so I have no clue who you were. 

Or where you lived.

Or anything about you. 

I think with the advent of digital pictures the drawer picture is going to eventually become obsolete. 

Thats kinda sad.

Because where else can we see this:

What are those prison jumpsuits/raincoats doing?

Why are they lined up like that?

Why is a man wearing one of them sitting on steps outside in the rain. 

Only the drawer will ever know....
