Lets take a closer look...

Several years ago we visited the Duomo in Milan.

It was beautiful.

Well, I say it was beautiful, I'm really not sure.

It was under scaffolding so we really couldn't see that much of it.

Pretty much the entire country of Italy is under scaffolding at any given time.

We did walk the 919 steps to get up to the top and the roof was amazing.

Here are my brother and sister in law at the top.

They look surprisingly dapper for the fact that they just walked up a 919 steps.

They always look dapper.

Its a little annoying.

They have always been way cooler than me.

Or anyone else.

They are the kind of people that when people mention them they say "Oh, their so cool!"

They have an almost teenager right now.

I wonder if he thinks they are cool?

Anyway, bygones.

Back to Milan.

The Duomo was first built in the 5th century and is the second largest Catholic Cathedral in the world.

Soooo, um...go Catholics!

Alright, enough history.

Anyway, It was a looong way up.

But when you got to the top this was what you got to see:

Flying Buttresses!

I'm not even trying to be funny.

They are really called flying buttresses.

It makes me think of...never mind.

Aren't they beautiful?

I bet if you look closer you'll see the designs are even more beautiful.

Lets look shall we?

Holy Flying Buttresses!

Lets just stay back at a distance.

I did not need to see that.

After we left the Duomo we went to get our rental car.

This is what we were hoping for:

This is what we got:

Thats just embarrassing.

Ha, ha!

Not looking so cool now are you!

The European rental car...

Lets just call it the Great Equalizer.
