I May Bite

Fall saw us making the mandatory trip to the pumpkin patch at Lyon Family Farms. This trip always leads to the mandatory ‘will the donkeys or won’t the donkeys bite us’ while we are feeding them trip.

Spoiler alert: they did actually bite.

Oh, it wasn’t that bad. The bite was more like a little nip.

This year instead of a corn/hay bale maze they had a flower garden. It was pretty awesome. Two teenagers begrudgingly went and one teenager was allowed to stay home.

It’s kinda like our weekend trips to Auburn except it’s a different teenager that stays home. Damien is an Alabama fan so he, shockingly, doesn’t want to spend his weekends in Auburn.

James goes but it’s a little begrudgingly. Currently thinking of pulling a donkey and biting him right now. He screwed up this weekend and instead of just admitting it and apologizing he tried to downplay it. “It wasn’t that bad, Mom.” A bad apology is something I cannot abide. If you’re going to apologize then actually apologize. I mean an honest to goodness apology. Not an ‘I’m sorry but’  or an ‘if blah blah blah hadn’t happened I wouldn’t have….’ No, I want an apology. I guess that’s just part of parenting – teaching them the right way to apologize.

Chewbacca and Random Girl agree with me, don’t you ladies.

“Just take the picture, woman.”

Oh, don’t worry kids. My bite isn’t that bad.
