My friend Betsy had the perfect house for teenagers growing up…
Wait! Rabbit Trail!! Isn’t Betsy a great name for a teenager? Doesn’t it just sound like she should be at a Sock Hop? Hey, look! It’s Betsy, when she was a teenager, at an actual Sock Hop!
Betsy’s house had a big ole basement downstairs that had puzzles the family had put together hanging on the wall. The first time I saw those puzzles on the wall I went straight home and started gluing every puzzle I could get my hands on with puzzle glue. The first puzzle that went up on my wall was…wait for it…a Sweet Valley High puzzle.
I proudly hung that sucker up as soon as the glue dried. And yes, I still have it.
The minions like to put puzzles together so when I found these puzzles by Cobble Hill that marketed themselves as ‘Family Puzzles’ I jumped at the chance to get one.
The kids absolutely loved it. There were plenty of big pieces to keep them occupied. And more than plenty of little pieces to keep us occupied. Some of the minions went into it a little more willingly than others:
But eventually they all came around and it actually ended up being a really great family activity.
It took us a couple days but we finely managed to get it all put together.
Awww…Snow White! That’s going to look great on the toddler’s walls! Did you know that when you get to the end of your puzzle and notice you are missing a piece all hope is not lost? It’s true. My Dad is a master at cardboard puzzle piece creation. No cardboard box is safe from his hands. I was afraid he was going to have to make us a piece when we got to the end and there was a gaping hole smack dab in the middle of the puzzle.
The crisis was averted though when I found this in the ‘to be washed’ pile. See Mom! I do know how to do laundry.
So, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to hop on Amazon and order yourself a family puzzle. I’m leaning towards Santa’s workshop but don’t tell Jen Hatmaker.

Love the Sweet Valley High puzzle!!

The waitress asked "Well why is that so special that you come in here all carryin' on that that?"
"Cause it only took us a week and it says right here on the box, "5 to 7 years!"
