You know you're in trouble on a road trip when you wake up from a nap and the driver is pulled over at a gas station consulting a map.
You know it's even worse than you originally thought when you see that the driver isn't actually consulting a map but the minion's Kid's Ultimate Road Trip Atlas.
I mean, if the GPS can't get us there I doubt that business can either.
No worries, though! We got to Kanakuk's K-Kauai Family Camp just fine.
We actually got to camp a couple hours early. We moseyed in to Branson (since we're in Branson it's perfectly appropriate to use the term 'moseyed') and ate ice cream at Mr B's Ice Cream Parlor. The bag seen in the picture at the bottom was hanging on the front door. It was a ziplock bag filled with water and a penny. What the what? Has anyone else ever seen this? I tweeted it earlier and a couple people told me it was some sort of device to keep flies away.
So...Family Camp! I hope to have my normal blog up every night but that may be wishful thinking on my part so if the blog is a bit slow this week you know why.
And...thanks to tonight's blog you also know why people put bags with water and pennies on doors.

Also, if my Dad knew how good the butter pecan ice cream was at Mr B's he'd get in the car and start heading north right now
"Flies? I eat flies for breakfast."

Hey small world! Our kids go to Kanakuk and we print their apparel. Enjoy... what a great place!!!
ReplyDeleteFamily Camp is incredible - I can't recommend it highly enough. The nine year old is going to K-Kountry next week.
DeleteBilly may have broken the bro-code by actually seeking directions. GPS is OK because it is electronic and anything guys do with electronics is OK. Paper maps? Not so much.
