John Feinstein is Not a Materialistic Jerk...

Sundance!

You may have heard of the film festival or the ski slope but what I really love is the catalog. The jewelry, the shoes the decor...I love it all.

I've taken the catalog for years and nothing turns me into a materialistic jerk quicker than the Sundance
catalog.

Oooh! Oooh! Except the Backroads catalog! And the Pottery Barn catalog! And the Anthropologie catalog! Wow. Okay, so it's looking like there are actually a lot of things that turn me into a materialistic jerk.

When we were in Park City we realized that the real Sundance was close so Mom and I decided to take a little trip down there.

For the record I don't like how google maps (which you should NEVER trust by the way) now gives you multiple routes to choose from.  They're supposed to be the experts, I don't need to make that decision.

The timing was perfect because it was snowing that day and I don't like to ski when it's snowing hard. I know that sounds weird but I'm a Spring skiing kind of girl. If I have to wear goggles and all sorts of layers I'm really not interested.

Sundance was beautiful - especially in the snow.

There was a pretty little creek that ran through it.

We ate lunch at the restaurant and it was yummy.

The gift shop was, of course, amazing.

I mean...

It's a stinkin' bird house made with pages from a vintage Bambi book!

How cool is that?!

I'd love to go back in the summer. John Feinstein is going to be at Sundance doing an author's talk in July. I've tried to make some hints to Billy about it but so far I don't think he is taking the bait.

I mean...sure. I could say "Hey Billy, Could we go to Sundance in July to hear John Feinstein speak?" I mean, I could but I won't. Because for some reason it's way more 'fun' to drop a few hints and then be all bratty come August when the date comes and goes.

Yes, he sure is lucky to be married to someone like me.

"Oh, I just love it when she puts her dirty feet in my lap."

"Woman, I'm not a mind reader. Just tell me you want to go!"

I read Feinstein's book The Punch years ago and really enjoyed it.

It made me view professional athletes in a whole different light. He's on Jim Rome a lot and I always enjoy hearing him speak.

Kinda like I always enjoy getting the Sundance catalog.
