Moo!!!!

Well, the kindergartner...

Wait! Rabbit Trail!

What's up with the spelling of the word kindergarten?

Because to me it looks like it should be kindergarden.

Dang. Spell Check says that spelling is fine. So...are we fine on either way?

Is it a grey or gray kinda thing?

Maybe it's a crazy British thing...

....like being excessively fond of the letter u.

Colour for color etc. And the need to call lines ques.

All I know is that I have a kid in Kindergarten. Or Garden.

Okay, back to the task at hand.

Well, the kindergartner went on pretty fantastic field trip a couple weeks ago.

It was to Publix, the grocery store.

It may not sound like much but stick with me on this one.

Among other things we got to see the big box crusher.

A big score for the boys.

The Pharmacy was also pretty cool.

Tales were solemnly told to the pharmacist about throwing up due to yucky tasting medicine.

The bakery was a big hit.

The baker took icing and drew a smiley face on each kids hand that they promptly licked off.

The highlight of the trip was definitely the octopus.

It was pretty awesome.

The looks on the kids faces after they had touched it were pretty great.

A word to the wise:

For some reason the kids felt the need to grope every piece of fruit within reach.

"Is that a vegetable that hasn't been touched? Grab it!"

They took us back to the storage room to show us the freezer.

Well, well, well.

What do we have here?

The kids got to watch Sushi being made.

I guess that was what the octopus was hanging around for.

The lobster was also a big score.

Nothing quite compared to this though:

The hairnet.

They were worn with pride for the rest of the day.

The funniest thing that happened occurred in the milk aisle.

The tour guide took the kids behind the shelves of milk so we could see people's hands as they reached in.

The worker had the kids wait for someone to walk by and then yell 'MOO!' when they reached in for milk.

It was pretty epic.

Or it would have been had anyone actually walked by. The store was packed when we got there but for some reason it was empty by the time we got to the milk aisle.

I wonder why.

It couldn't have been the manhandling of the veggies, fruits, and future sushi ingredients could it have been?

"What are you implying, woman?"

Absolutely nothing, child.

You were all model citizens during the trip.

Even with the disappointment of not getting to yell 'moo.'

  1. kindergarten is of German origin which translate as a "garden of children"

  2. And you can't keep the Germanic "kinder" as the first part of the word and then Americanize the second part into "garden". Ques/queues.
