Good gravy.
What is this box hiding behind in my closet?
Could it be?
My mementos from junior high and high school.
Since I have so much to do lets take this opportunity to procrastinate and look through it shall we?
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I present to you proof of my absolute boy crazy insanity in junior high:
In case you can't read it, I'll translate:
January 26, 1990
Dear Diary,
I saw the 7th and 8th grade boys basketball game. Talked to *. Later went to the Hatton game. * asked me to the dance! AWESOME because he didn't have to go. I mean it's a junior high thing. I can't stop thinking about him! Spent the night with Margaret.
First of all: I'm not sure what all the secrecy is about. I have no clue why I used an asterisk for his name. Secondly: Lord, Please don't let my daughter be this boy crazy.
It's my prayer requests that really get me.
Just four things:
Prayers:
Margaret's Grandmom
Think of things to say to *
Don't worry about worldly things
U.S. Soldiers.
I mean...
The entire journal entry was about worldly things!
The prayer request directly above 'think of things to say to *' was a totally 'worldly' thing!
Did I not see the irony in this?
Did I even understand what the term 'worldly things' meant?
Oh, la.
And don't worry,
No *'s were harmed in this post.
* broke up with me a couple months later and I've henceforth always referred to him as:
'the one that got away.'
Mommy, Were you really like this?
Sadly, child. Yes.

I have laughed out loud at the irony of the worldliness prayer!!! Kinda like my prayer life now sometimes :) Also...don't feel lonely, my 6th grade journal is all about my crush and how he talked to me at the water fountain. OOOOOOh!!!!
