The Weird Side of Lynchburg

You've probably heard of Lynchburg, TN.

It's home to the Jack Daniels factory and most importantly:

Miss Bobo's.

Miss Bobo's is a restaurant that serves really amazing food.

In fact, let's just take a moment of silence for the fried okra.

Alright, that's over.

There's a weird side to Lynchburg though.

This was abundantly clear last weekend when we went to eat at Miss Bobos.

Before we ate we took a stroll through the antique and gift shops downtown.

And kids, I'm not gonna lie:

We saw some seriously weird stuff in Lynchburg.

Thing the first:

A gigantic Christmas tree made of whiskey barrels.

Number Two:

A complete set of all of McDonalds Beanie Babies.

This would have made my cousin Margaret's life much easier back in the day.

See...

She had this boss once who liked Beanie babies and used to send her on these crazy hunts to find them.

Beanie baby errands...the world's a crazy place.

How about this though:

Scent eliminating socks would be highly prized in this house.

See...

We have a child with very stinky feet.

"It's sad when Mom blogs about my feet."

Yeah, yeah...

This next batch of pictures is truly disturbing:

I walked down into a basement and found these.

I'm pretty sure they come alive at night.

Especially this one.

The most disturbing thing though has got to be this:

Don't be fooled by the thumbs up.

He is clearly up to something.

Something weird.

Possibly something weird having to do with Christmas.

  1. I love Miss Bobo's AAAANNNNDDDD I am pretty sure you are right about the doll. She strikes a startling resemblance to Tammy Faye Baker back in the day doesn't she?
