I just...
I just don't know...
I mean...
I don't want to knock it before I've tried it...
but...
deep fried butter?
I mean...
Deep. Fried. Butter.
It's a quandary.
So, we went to the Lincoln County Fair on Saturday night.
That kid in the stroller was a bit troublesome during the event.
I love the fair.
I love the goofy paintings on the rides and the food and oh, just everything.
I mean, who could not love that little guy beside the word Zone.
He looks like a creature you would rescue in Mario.
This one had places to go.
He also loves the fair.
The Lincoln County Fair is put on by a Belle City Amusements.
It's some sort of amusement company - apparently there are several traveling fairs that make their way around the states.
It would be an interesting way to the see the country I suppose.
"Woman, Don't take my picture again."
The Lincoln County Fair had a huge agricultural spin to it.
There were all kinds of farm animals on display.
She was a fan.
As you can see she had worked her way out of the stroller.
She tried to get up the courage to pet the goat but never quite could.
I kept expecting to see Wilbur and Charlotte at the fair.
I also kind of expected to see Ree Drummond.
Butterbean was a big fan of the cows.
Local kids had grown their own, well, really their own everything, and put it on display for judging.
They had a display with all the different items made in Tennessee.
And then there were the funnel cakes...
"Did you say funnel cakes?"
Oh, the funnel cakes.
And the snow cones...
And the turkey legs...
It was a swirling vortex of food pleasure.
It was a veritable smorgasbord.
When it was time to go home we had a long ride back to Huntsville.
She was not a fan of the long ride back.
The kids were exhausted.
This one?
He fell asleep on the stairs.
He couldn't quite make it to his room.
It must have been the funnel cake.
Glad to see you dressed the little one in her best overalls! Got to raise them Southern girls up right!
ReplyDelete9/19 is the Peach Pie contest at the Puyallup Fair, one of the ten largest in the US of A. Last year deep fried and crusty jalapenos were the new hit.
ReplyDeleteLeatherneck, I googled it - they aren't messing around at that fair! Looks great!
