My kids are pretty sure that they are going to die every time we get on any type of roller coaster.
Yet they walk resolutely to the gallows...
And then they wait in line...
And they ponder their ultimate fate.
And then they ride...
We went to Silver Dollar City in Branson yesterday.
It's super close to Kanakuk Family Camp, which is where we are for the week.
The kids could not have had a better time.
In fact, we all loved it.
Back to the roller coasters:
Let me just tell you this ride that provoked so much terror in them...
This ride?
It was called the American Plunger.
It's not exactly making the'World's Scariest Coasters' list for Pete's sake.
But to them?
It was something quite terrifying.
Let's just look at the expressions on their faces as they went down the only drop in the ride:
The ultimate belief in his own destruction in the oldest
and
abject terror in the youngest.
and
abject terror in the youngest.
Seriously, this picture!
I wasn't sure whether to buy the picture but when the youngest boy saw it I decided I had to.
See...
It cracked him up.
He couldn't believe he had been so scared.
He laughed his head off.
He kept asking me:
"Mom! Let me see that picture of me again!"
Then he would break into fits of giggles.
So, crisis averted or whatever.
Silver Dollar City:
Bastion of all things scary and terrifying.
