Stalker Mode Achieved

Let's talk about my husbands's forearms shall we?

Look, here's a picture:

Wait a minute!

This blog isn't about his forearms.

I'm sorry.

They distracted me for a moment.

What this blog is really about is Super Mario Brothers for the Wii...

Or maybe it's about listening to podcasts.

Or it could be about stalking people at Kanakuk Family Camp in Missouri.

Which, can I just say, is quickly becoming one of my new favorite places.

Actually, I don't know what this post is about.

Here is what I do know:

Certain babies:

"Who me?"

Yes, you.

Certain babies were wide awake and crying from 9 - 1 last night.

So, I'm a bit confused.

Or irritable.

Or both.

Last night was our first night at family camp and she is sleeping, er...not sleeping, in the room with us.

We were so worried that she was keeping the people in the room next to us awake but apparently the walls are super thick because according to them they 'slept like babies.'

Unlike the actual baby.

Anyway...podcasts.

I listen to a heck of a lot of podcasts.

Seriously, a lot.

Here's the deal:

If I'm doing housework I'm listening to a podcast.

If I'm driving in the car I'm listening to a podcast.

Also...

My husband travels a good bit...

And when he travels I like to put the kids in bed, cuddle up on the couch, and play Super Mario Brothers on the Wii while I listen to podcasts.

Yep, I'm just that cool.

I rotate between five main podcasts:

Matt Chandler out of the Village Church in Texas,

Mark Driscoll out of Mars Hill in Seattle,

Jean Laroux out of Southwood Presbyterian in Huntsville, Alabama,

Dave Thew out of Sojourn Church in Huntsville,

and

Stuff You Missed in History Class.

Look at Stuff You Missed in History Class!

Sliding in under the preaching radar.

I'd put links to all those things but I'm just too tired.

Go google it, you lazybones.

By far the podcast I've listened to the most though would be Matt Chandler.

In fact, I love playing Super Mario Brothers so much that I have literally listened to over 400 hours of Matt Chandler's preaching.

Four hundred hours. And that's a conservative estimate.

I counted it up last night.

While that baby cried her head off:

"Me, again?"

Yes, you again.

I mean I'm kind of embarrassed that I've listened to that many hours but, then again...

I could be out honkey tonkin' -  as my Grandma would say.

Anyway...

Matt Chandler's Path series...

Seriously!

Why haven't you listened to it?

It rocked my world!

One afternoon the six year old walked in the kitchen where I was thinking about playing Super Mario Brothers...

...where I was fixing dinner and he heard the podcast on.

He listened to it for a couple seconds and then said:

"That guy again? He is always talking about Jesus!."

Yes, minion...that's kind of his job.

Ya know what's not his job?

Talking to groupies.

He is here with his family at camp this week too.

So, of course what I want to do is get him to autograph my laptop like I had Ree Drummond do.

I'd also love a stinkin' picture with me and Billy.

However, I'm going to refrain.

And...for the record I'm not the only one who giggled like a school girl when they found out he was going to be here.

This guy did too:

"Again with the sharing of our business?"

Well, he was pretty dang excited.

So...

Today while we sat playing Scrabble in The Bean I snapped a picture:

It was TOTALLY of Billy!

But...

The back of Matt Chandler's head just happened to be in the background above Billy's shoulder.

So, there ya go.

A picture of Billy and Matt Chandler.

Boo Yah!

Stalker mode activated and achieved!

  1. So all of this rambling about Preacher Man and not a single mention that you are apparently married to Popeye the Sailor?
