This year at Cousin's Camp the kids made fairy houses.
I kind of loved it.
As in:
I kinda felt like getting a rope from the shed and tying the kids up so I could make fairy houses by myself.
"Who do you think you're gonna tie up?"
My parents first saw the fairy houses up in Maine.
Apparently these fairy houses are big...er, are little...in Maine.
I love Maine.
Me and Maine?
We're like this.
Oh...I guess you would actually need to see me to see me making the 'tight' symbol.
Let's just get back to the fairy houses shall we?
I was in charge of the fairy house activity so it was my job to see that it ran smoothly.
I made sure to gather up plenty of supplies before hand.
Tree bark, dried flowers, old vines etc.
I tried not to overdo the whole planning thing.
See...
My Dad's side of the family has a tendency to excessively plan things.
For example:
Here is an example of a seating chart for a get together with my Dad's family:
However...
My Mom's side of the family has a tendency to under plan.

"Here is a chair. Sit down."
I'm a little bit of both.
Here are a couple houses we made as samples:
The kids totally took ownership of the activity and were all kinds of proud of their houses.
Proud.
Also proud.
When the kids were at lunch I took glitter and sprinkled it all over the houses to look like the fairies had moved in.
Well, I was supposed to.
Somehow this little troublemaker didn't get any put on hers:
The one in the purple.
Those other two troublemakers were too little to participate in the fairy houses.
"Mother dear, why does she think I'm too little to make a fairy house?"
Either way the missing glitter was found and applied and everyone was happy in the end.
Except me.
Dang it, I never did get to make a house.
Yep! Here's a chair. Or 'Go in there and see if you can find another chair.' lol
ReplyDeleteOr if you are younger its "Crawford Carter Brodie! get out of those chairs and give them to your elders" Haha Fun times
