Westminster 517...

So...when my husband and I want to get off the phone now we usually say something super romantic.

You know something along the lines of:

"Don't forget to pick up the kids"

or

"Hey, could you stop and get milk"

But...

back in the day...

When we were all...

...in love and stuff...

It was:

"No! You hang up first"

and

"Lets just fall asleep on the phone together"

Which leads me to the story of Westminster 517.

See to this day Billy is a bit of a talker in his sleep.

When he was working as a stock broker I heard midnight ramblings about files, clients, meetings, and market indexes.

Now that he is selling firetrucks I hear all about trucks, pump tests, generators, and certifications.

Wildly thrilling, I know.

So one night in college as he was laying in his apartment falling asleep and I was laying in my apartment falling asleep...

...100 yards apart from each other...

He picked up the phone and called me.

I answered and he immediately said:

"Westminster 517!"

While I paused to try to figure out what in the world he meant he said it again:

"Westminster 517"

I asked him what he meant and he just said it again.

But this time in a very sleepy voice.

And then he fell asleep holding the phone.

I tried to wake up him up but he was out.

All night I lay there wondering what in the world he could have been talking about.

Westminster was the name of his high school alma mater.

But what in the world was 517.

A date?

A Biblical reference?

The next morning he remembered nothing of the phone call or the conversation.

To this day it remains a mystery...

I'm nothing like that.

I've never talked in my sleep.

I wake up super easy and usually sound really chipper.

Too chipper actually.

So chipper it's embarrassing.

But...

Last night...

See its not that easy to come up with blog ideas every day.

So when the the mood strikes I have to jump on it.

Last night I remember waking up and writing a whole blog in my head in the middle of the night.

Then, right before I fell back asleep I wrote in my notes on my computer three words to remind me what the blog was going to be about.

The three words:

music
26
friendship

Their meaning:

*Crickets chirping*

I have no idea.

Seriously!

I wrote the entire blog in my head and then took the time to write those three words and this morning...

No clue what they mean.

Music?

26?

Friendship?

I'm drawing a blank.

I'm pulling a Westminster 517.

"These are the parents God gave me???"

Sorry, kid.

At least we'll always have music and 26 and friendship.

And, of course, Westminster 517.
