So can I just give a shout out to the city of Huntsville?
Friday afternoon we went to Big Spring Park and I was reminded of just how fantastic of a place it is.

Friday afternoon we went to Big Spring Park and I was reminded of just how fantastic of a place it is.
The first thing we stumbled upon at the park was this:
No, no, no.
Not some stupid pigeons.
Get out of here pigeons!
The first thing we saw was this:
It was a bride having her picture taken.
We weren't the only ones that saw it:
Heads were turned all over the park towards her.
We did the typical park things:
Fed the fish,
stood too close to the edge.
walked on the bridge,
and
tried to console the toddler who really wanted out of that stroller.
Poor kid, there was no way I was chasing her around.
We also saw this:
Look 3/4 of the way up.
Its those dang teenagers again.
Eventually they came down on their own.
Every grown up in the park breathed a sigh of relief.
I spent the rest of the time at the park saying things like:
Please don't fall in.
Please don't dive in.
Please don't jump in.
And finally this happened:
Ha, ha! Daddy came and rescued me from that stinkin' stroller.
The park was just as pretty at night.
The minions just wanted to climb.
Now if the park could just get rid of these guys...
What did we ever do to you?
Pigeons, Its really the fact that you just exist.
Can you name that quote?
Minus the word 'pigeons' of course.
Its from one of the Harry Potter books when Harry's Dad is being mean to Severus Snape.
What an awful thing to say!
What a bully.
Kids are so mean!
Speaking of mean:
When I was in the 7th grade I was at a new school:
I tried to make myself seem really cool by pretending that I was friends with the really cool kids.
I would say things like "I was talking to so and so the other day and she said..."
Just your average moronicness.
Unfortunately, the really cool kids found out and...
Oh, it was painful...
Well, they came up to me after school one day and said:
"So, we heard that you've been telling people that you're like friends with us and we want you to stop because you're not friends with us."
WAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm over it now.
The reasons I'm over it are because:
1) Billy makes fun of me when I tell him I'm not over it.
2) I did things just as mean to other people.
3) Those girls probably feel bad about it now.
and
4) I'm a grown up.
Isn't this blog supposed to be about Big Spring Park?
Weird, huh.
Its been high jacked.
High jacked by pigeons and petty junior high girls.
Who knew it could happen?
Don't blame this on me woman.

Love the rabbit trail. Smile & laugh. We've all been there 1 way or another...I ran 4 for class office in HS (did not win) and not very nice people wrote untrue things about me on the bathroom wall. Not kind! Anyway, character building and I've obviously more than healed! LOL. D.Ramsey tweeted 2day: "Most people r not crude & cruel as much as they are wounded & afraid." Glad you guys made the most Spring Park on Spring Break!
