So...
late night at Target.
It can be a strange place.
A few observations from the book department.
Book, the first:
Cake Pops
Um...Yes, please.
Of course I want some.
Don't these just look wildly delicious?
They actually don't just look delicious - they are delicious.
I had them once at my friend Kristi's daughters's birthday party.
Kristi is my creative friend.
She can bake, decorate, organize, and sew like nobody's business.
She's the real deal.
On a side note - ya know what she can't do?
Bowl.
I know that because we were on an intramural bowling team in college.
I'm not sure if you get much cooler than intramural bowling.
We pretty much peeked at that point.
Here we are hanging out at a baby shower together:
Er...why am I holding my drink like that?
It looks rather precarious.
Okay, back to the cake pops.
In addition to making cake pops Kristi also made the cupcakes for my toddler's 1st birthday party.
Seriously, how cute are those?
They were a big hit.
"Just let us eat the cupcakes, lady."
"These cupcakes are worthy of my tongue sticking out silly grin."
So yes to the Cake Pops book.
Now on to the next book:
An observation:
When I first saw this book in the bookstore months ago I wasn't very interested.
I thought "maybe its about a kid, maybe its about a trip to the circus, maybe its about a zookeeper"
I don't know - the cover art just wasn't doing it for me.
But tonight I saw the new version:
Oooh!
Saucy!
All the sudden I'm interested.
I'm taking this book home!
So the moral of the story is always put Robert Pattinson on the cover of your novel.
Whew!
I'm glad that we got that cleared up.
All the famous authors that regularly read my blog will be very glad I shared my thoughts on the matter.
The next book we need to discuss is...
er....well...er...
Well, apparently its called
Abraham Lincoln
Vampire Hunter
Hmmm.
Uh...
I'm confused.
When did Abe Lincoln become a Vampire Hunter?
Did I miss this?
You'd think having a degree in History would have made me more knowledgeable on Lincoln's Vampiric booty kicking ways.
Wow, things you learn late night at Target.
Who knew it was such an enlightening place.

You are too funny and make me sound way more interesting than I really am! I got the Cake Pops book for Christmas and love it. My girl begs to read it at bedtime and will flip through it for ages. The pictures are fun and colorful, even for a 2 year old!
ReplyDeleteLOL on your Abe Vampire commentary. I think I'll take a trip down the Target book aisle on this rainy Saturday...
ReplyDeleteMy history teacher read that Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. He said it was difficult to teach class because we were learning about the Civil War right then so he was getting the real history and the history from the book mixed up.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny BayLee! It would have been funny f he had taught you the wrong thing!
