So is this Billy and me on our first Valentines Day together?
No.
Well, is this Billy and me on our first V-day together?
Nope.
What about this one?
Nuh uh.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Let me tell you the sad story of the Valentines Day that wasn't.
Back in good ole 1998 Billy and I had our first official date.
January 10th to be exact.
What followed was a blissful month of note leaving, class skipping, smoochy face, dirt road riding, dating bliss.
And then a little movie called Titanic came out...
And we went to see it.
And like the proverbial ship...
It all went downhill.
See, there was this girl.
We shall not speak her name.
Suffice it to say she was beautiful and popular and blah, blah, blah.
And he had been friends with her and was having issues with wondering 'what might have been.'
What a dolt!
Anyway...
Apparently the movie had made him all emotional.
I could tell during the movie that way more was going on with him than just comprehending the story of Jack and Rose.
I could tell during the movie that way more was going on with him than just comprehending the story of Jack and Rose.
So after the movie he takes me home and then...
...and then...
...and then...
...he proceeds to come back over and break up with me!
It was February 13th.
The next morning he woke up and realized what an idiot he had been but at this point I was so mad at him I refused to see him or even answer his calls.
So, he takes a picture of all the gifts he had bought me because he knows that after I forgive him I'll want to see them.
Hmph!
But...
Apparently I forgave him.
Because here we are on our honeymoon.
And then we had a baby.
And then we had another one.
And darn it if we didn't have another one.
And here we are on our tenth anniversary having dinner at the Arley Lighthouse Restaurant:
So, I'm totally over it.
Titanic be darned.
I mean he did mention her name the other day and I literally said "I don't want to ever hear you say her name again"
But other than that I'm totally over it.
Yep, over it.
O-V-E-R I-T
Well...working on being over it.
Happy Valentines Day.

ReplyDeleteLove it! So glad you gave him another shot! PS- I HEART that last family picture. Stella is so stinking cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Liz took the last picture - the funny thing about that picture is that I had Billy dress Stella and her dress is actually on backwards. I didn't realize it until we got back home.
ReplyDeleteShe couldn't hold a candle to you!
ReplyDeleteThat was an awesome Valentines Day post. Love the story....
ReplyDeleteWas it a high school friend of his? If so what was her name? I mean you don't have to say it, just give me something it rhymes with. Curiosity killed the Algebra teacher.
ReplyDeleteYou can send me your e-mail address and I'll e-mail it to you! In the super remote chance she reads this post one day I don't want to incriminate anyone publicly! But...if you knew him in high school you could probably guess. : )
