Then:
He was big and I was small.
Now:
He is big and she is small.
They leave footprints together when they walk that look like this.
He wrote me a letter in college once.
Here it is:
He talked about Contractors Night coming up at the lumber company.
And my Aunt Mary Lee and my Mom's latest adventure.
He enclosed a picture I had drawn and left in his desk in high school.
He also sent two $2 bills.
One for me and one for Laura Lee.
Mine is still folded into that journal.
He called me once in college when Mom was out of town.
He had to call my brother Joey to get my phone number.
Thinking about him calling my brother makes me love him even more.
He answers lots of questions with the word "mmph."
It usually means 'yes'
He took me to Shoney's for soup and salad when I was in kindergarten.
He took me fishing.
He brought me a t-shirt when I was sick once from Kansas City.
I still sleep in it.
I love him.
She loves him too.

ReplyDeleteAll of my children love him, too. They always have. Which is funny because they aren't usually drawn to men that don't throw them in the air and pretend to be a monster. Great post!
